Karachi-born model, Iqra Saeed mysteriously died on Tuesday. Doctors reveal she died because of the drugs in her system.
The 22-year-old model had been brought to the Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara in a drugged state. Doctors at the hospital said that Iqra died due to the drugs she consumed.
The doctors did everything to save her life but to no avail. Her body was then shifted to the morgue.
“She was given some drugs that caused her death.”
According to police, Iqra Saeed had left Karachi for Lahore in order to pursue a career in modeling. She had been taken to the hospital by three young men who have been identified as Usman, Hasan Butt, and Umar Raza Butt. The three men just left Iqra at the hospital.
Investigation Launched
All three men were identified as residents of Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Ravi area. An FIR has been filed against the three men and an investigation is in process.
According to the Shadara Police station, they revealed that a call was was from the hospital a few days ago, when Iqra was brought in to the hospital.
The police further revealed that:
“Two days ago, when our police team was on patrol, we received a call from the hospital about a girl aged 20 to 22 years. According to our investigation, the model had been forcefully intoxicated by the three men that dropped her off at the hospital – Usman Rafique, Umer Butt and Hassan Butt.”

Sources also revealed that the body in the morgue was confirmed to be that of Iqra after verifying her mobile phone. The police spoke to her father, who revealed how Iqra moved to Lahore from Karachi to work as a model, and that too against her parents’ wishes.
He also said that his daughter was finding it hard to secure modeling gigs, which may have driven her into the company of shady individuals. Her father believes that the three suspects may have played a role in her death.
Police are looking to determine the motive for the death of the model.

Iqra Saeed’s phone records are being investigated as part of the inquiry. The police have classified her case as murder, and they are looking to apprehend and question the three individuals who dropped her at the hospital.
It should be mentioned that Lahore has seen various other cases of a similar nature during the past few years. In November 2016, Kismat Baig, a popular stage actress, lost her life after being shot eight times by unidentified man during his trip back home. Other actresses such as Sangum Rana, Yasmeen, Karishma Shah, Naina Nagina Khanum and Nadra have also met similar fates.
Police suspects that different criminal gangs and mafias may be behind this trend, exploiting women who want to join showbiz.
