According to motivational speaker Qasim Ali Shah, a woman’s only goal in life is to become a ‘good wife’ and a ‘good mother’.
The speaker’s recent interview, which went viral over social media, is being called out for being one-sided and anti-women. However, a certain segment also believes that his remarks were blown out of proportion, and that Qasim wasn’t trying to demean women in any way.
Let’s take a look at what happened.
The Qasim Ali Shah interview
The self-motivational speaker and writer believes that women should be taught about being a mother and wife in schools. In an interview, Qasim Ali Shah said that a woman’s paramount aim in life is marriage and motherhood.
“Go to schools where our daughters are studying and till matric, they are not taught how to be good wives, even though in a woman’s life, the ultimate two goals are to be a good wife and a good mother.”

Furthermore, some social media users wanted to set the record straight. They alleged that Qasim has not said anything remotely sexist or demeaning.

#QasimAliShah has very rightly pointed out the two very very important roles of a women. His video shows that these two roles of a Mother n Wife are very important which needs proper attention. Only those can understand this who know the respect n honour of ths two roles.

Of course, some allege that Qasim should have also demanded the same for men as well. The idea being that both men and women need to look after themselves with their ordained roles in a family.

We should see injustice with women in our country. Everyone crush them with their choice not knowing that what's their choice. Shouldn't we be good fathers, brothers & husbands. Completely disturbed when saw his 2.3M subs on YouTube & this is what he teaching them.#QasimAliShah

Do you think everyone deserves a chance to improve their economic conditions? Or do you think Qasim’s words should also be taken into consideration in Pakistani society where the traditional roles of men as bread earners and women as home-makers should be maintained for social cohesion?
What do you think?
