Yesterday, a clip of Muneeb Butt joking about a husband’s right to second marriage went viral on social media. In the video, he said that women should pamper and care for their husbands ‘out of fear’ that they might marry someone else. However, the Baandi actor clarified his stance and said that it was nothing more than a sarcastic joke.

Taking to his Instagram, Muneeb Butt shared the viral video clip and said that it is being used out of context. He said he ‘sarcastically joked’ about it and women absolutely don’t need to ‘live under a constant fear that their husband will leave them’.

“This is the clip that is misinterpreted by a few publication, this was not a serious conversations as seen we were joking and I sarcastically joked that you should be scared and pamper your husband even more.”

“Picking a clip and using it in a different context to malign my character is not journalism. I do not think women should live under a constant fear that their husband will leave them. I am a husband my self and love my wife and she loves me, that’s the basic pillar of our relationship.”
