The drama continues to unfold as Atif Khan, husband of model and actress Nadia Hussain, was presented before the Judicial Magistrate South in Karachi on Monday over allegations of embezzling a jaw-dropping Rs 540 million.
The case took another turn as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) requested an 11-day physical remand of the accused.
The court, however, decided to extend Atif Khan’s remand for five days, directing the investigation officer (IO) to submit a progress report at the next hearing.
The FIA claims that Atif Khan is at the center of a massive fraud case involving the misuse of Rs 80 million in company funds for personal trading and the illegal acquisition of Rs 654 million through a third party, which he allegedly repaid with high-interest corporate funds.
The IO informed the court that the investigation is far from over, as more individuals connected to the fraud are yet to be arrested. It seems the web of this financial scandal is only getting more tangled.
Meanwhile, Nadia Hussain has chosen to stay tight-lipped about the situation, leaving fans speculating.
Despite a flood of comments on her social media posts, the actress has not issued any public statement. However, her most recent Instagram story raised eyebrows—a cryptic selfie captioned, “The light shines brighter in darkness. I am the light.” Whether this is a subtle nod to her current circumstances or just a moment of self-reflection, fans are left guessing.
