Nadia Jamil’s Son Gets Emotional Over Mom’s Chemotherapy [Video]

Earlier in April, Nadia Jamil revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer. After her surgery, the Pakistani actress started chemotherapy on Friday.

The actress was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and shared how frightening the experience is heading into chemotherapy.

In an Instagram post the Nadia Jamil shared how she wants to do this alone, rather than have her mother with her.

“Friday I go for my first Chemotherapy… I go alone … Don’t want to expose Mama and she understands this is my battle. I must fight it alone.”

While she opened up about being grateful for the privilege of having a family that supports her in a battle against a life-threatening illness, the actress said she wants to ‘feel her own strength‘ through this experience.

“It’s wonderful to have her here and my house is already sparkling … Why do I want I go alone? Because I’m scared and I want to feel my own strength…and come out proud of myself,”

Nadia is undergoing treatment in the United Kingdom, where she lives with her children. She might still be second-guessing herself on doing this alone as she asked a few friends for their opinion on the matter.

Nadia Jamil was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and a grade three tumor earlier in April. The former morning show host immediately went into surgery to have the tumor removed. She is now undergoing chemo to prevent treat her cancer.

Previously the actress has also opened up about the toll this illness has had on her family. Her adopted son Sabir is scared for her. The boy, who lives in a hostel in Lahore and is studying to become a cadet, broke down over the phone with his mother.

“He is scared nowadays line all my sons are, because I have cancer and my chemotherapy starts on Friday. I have not been able to eat for days and I’m feeling a bit weak… He saw me and he wept on the phone with me,”

Nadia Jamil adopted the boy when he was only four years old. Despite having gone through so much in life, Sabir broke down over his mother’s illness. The boy is a rescued bonded laborer who also gives motivational talks to other street children, orphans, and traumatized children.

Sabir encouraged Nadia to share his crying image to counter the idea that men don’t cry. He said other boys shouldn’t be afraid to cry for their mother either.

“He saw me and he wept on the phone with me. Then I told him to stop crying or I’m going to put this picture of you crying on social media and he said.”

Sabir sure does take after his mother.
