One thing the Imran Khan government did differently is invest in social media influencers. Now that he is no longer the Prime Minister that streak continues as Imran Khan met with TikTokers.
Naturally, much like they do about everything else, Netizens have a lot to say about the meeting.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) really shook things up when they took a substantial chunk of the state’s ‘media budget’ and went digital. Much like many companies, the state too opted for a better means to reach their target audience than legacy media, that was social media influencers such as TikTokers.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had long been digitally active. In fact, they pioneered the concept of political social media campaigns in Pakistan. Soon afterward other political parties established social media wings too.
Now as they’ve been ousted from the government, PTI continues relying on digital communication channels to reach its vote bank.
Yesterday, PTI Chairman, Imran Khan had a meeting with a group of famous TikTokers. Among those on the list are Chaudhry Zulqarnain, Kanwal Aftab, and others. The meeting was held at the former prime minister’s residence in Bani Gala.
The pictures of the meeting are all over social media. Photographs were also shared from Imran Khan’s official Instagram account.
Of course, Netizens had a lot to say about the matter. Some Netizens were excited and wanted to know the reason behind their meeting.
Others just trolled Imran Khan for meeting with TikTokers.

I am PTI supporter but Imran Khan Should have called Porn Stars, For the influence of campaign on social media, rather then some Tiktokers who lipsync the content and dont even have any ideology!!!

Then there were those that tried to explain the rationale behind the move.
People mocking tiktokers meeting Imran Khan have really no idea of the unprecedented "reach" of tiktok in Pakistan.
Unlike Twitter "influencers", these tiktokers have millions of followers from that part of our society who do not use 'elitist' apps like Twitter or Instagram.

You like it or not Tiktok is the most powerful App in Pakistan currently. The amount of traffic it attracts is unreal. Some of the Tiktokers who met Imran Khan today have more than 16M+ followers individually.
Khan as always stays miles ahead of his opponents they can't chase him.— Tehseen Bajwa (@Tehseenbajwa924) June 18, 2022
Then there were people asking trolls to be respectful towards the social media influencers. They’re human too.
If you disagree with Imran Khan, do whatever you want, avoid saying bad things to tiktokers just for a few likes and Rtz , They are as respectable as you think you are
