‘Nobody Wants to Buy It’: Rabi Pirzada on Maryam Nawaz’s Painting

Former singer/songwriter and calligrapher, Rabi Pirzada revealed that nobody wants to buy a sketch she made of Maryam Nawaz.

Her tweet caused quite a stir on social media as she explained that the sketch of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President has gone unsold for over two years, while sketches of Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), are already sold out.

Pirzada’s tweet has gone viral on social media, with many people making fun of Maryam Nawaz and her family. Some netizens even joked that the lack of interest in Maryam’s “beautiful” portrait could be another reason why PML-N doesn’t want an election at this time.

Rabi Pirzada is a talented artist and often showcases her beautiful sketches on social media. She shared a portrait of Maryam Nawaz and tweeted in Urdu,

For two years, no one has bought Maryam Sahiba’s painting. Whenever I sketch Imran sahab, it is immediately sold. I need the money to assist poor households, if someone is interested please contact me

Pirzada had hoped to sell the portrait of Nawaz to raise money for the needy and build homes for the poor. However, she expressed frustration that no one was interested in buying the portrait, attributing the lack of interest to the widespread public dislike of the politician and her family.

For the unversed, Rabi Pirzada has her own charity foundation called the Rabi Pirzada Foundation, which helps deserving people.

 

Rabi Pirzada is a former singer/songwriter, TV host, and calligrapher. She became a controversial figure after several ‘obscene’ videos of her were leaked on the internet and the public backlash forced her to quit the showbiz industry to stay away from the limelight and focus on her Islamic journey.
