NYC Restaurant Sets New World Record With $200 French Fries Dish

Tall, blonde and gorgeous – french fries are one of the most popular snacks and side dishes in the world, and we admit, it is extremely hard to resist them. They come in different shapes and are referred to as chips in many parts of the world. But have you ever eaten a $200 french fries dish? Probably not, because a restaurant in NYC is taking the fried potatoes to a whole new level (read – a very expensive level)

The most expensive french fries in the world!

Serendipity3, a restaurant in Manhattan, has set a new Guinness World Record for creating the world’s most expensive french fries, which is priced at a whopping $200 (Rs. 31,891).

The $200 dish is named Crème de la Crème Pomme Frites and is concocted by chef Joe Calderone and corporate executive chef Frederick Schoen-Kiewert.

One must wonder why is it so expensive? That’s because the one of a kind dish combines some truly premium ingredients including pure cage-free goose fat from France to 23-karat edible gold dust – all with a heavy dose of truffle.

Apart from the fancy ingredients, the presentation is also kept very aesthetically pleasing. The dish is served up on a Baccarat crystal Arabesque Plate, with a matching bowl to serve the dipping sauce which is made with a copious amounts of truffle butter and premium Gruyere cheese.

Serendipity3 reopened to the public last week, after being closed since the start of the pandemic in 2020.

“After reopening, we wanted to make as much noise as we can,” said creative director Joe Calerdone. “We thought it was the perfect timing to really do something fun and really prove that New York is back.”
