Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Wednesday have agreed to mutually cooperate in film and drama-related projects and have formed a committee to implement such joint projects.
The decision was made during a meeting between Pakistan’s federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb, and the Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki on Wednesday.
Both dignitaries agreed to form a committee, consisting of representatives from the two countries, to venture together in the making of future film and drama projects. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was finalized for enhancing mutual cooperation.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s long-standing bilateral relations in various other fields were also discussed during the meeting.

Minister Aurangzeb also appreciated the Saudi ambassador’s efforts in carrying out relief activities in the flood-hit areas of Pakistan. Reiterating the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, she said that Pakistan wishes to strengthen its trade and business-to-business cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi ambassador said, “Pakistanis, working in Saudi Arabia, are playing a key role in the development of the Kingdom”.
He also expressed his sympathies towards the flood affectees and the losses Pakistan has suffered because of the monsoon floods, and assured that Saudi Arabia will continue to support Pakistan in this regard.
