After New Zealand called off their limited-overs series in Pakistan on Friday, citing a security threat, Romanian pop group Akcent extended its support to Pakistan. The face of the group, Adrian Sina, said that he ‘always felt home’ here and ‘feels safe’.

Taking to the Facebook page of Akcent, he shared a video of a concert in Pakistan, chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad!’ He also wrote,

“I have been to Pakistan many times and I always felt it like a home. I feel safe there and the love I receive from Pakistan is beyond amazing. I will come back even more often. I love my fans! Pakistan Zindabad!”

New Zealand left Pakistanis devastated after pulling out of the series on September 17. They called off their tour of Pakistan, minutes before the first match was due to begin in Rawalpindi, under the pretext of security concerns

This was indeed very shocking, however, many foreign cricketers and celebrities supported Pakistan and said that they have always felt safe in Pakistan. Darren Sammy also took to his Twitter and wrote,

“Disappointed waking up to the news of the cancellation of the Pakistan Vs New Zealand series because of security issues. Over the last 6 years playing and visiting Pakistan has been one of the most enjoyable experiences. I’ve always felt safe. this is a massive blow to Pakistan.”
