As sexual harassment allegations emerge against Ali Noor, we’re taking a hard look at all the other stars from the biz that have been accused of the same. From some of our favorite singers to social media influencers.
However, many now state they could see the tell-tale signs of a problematic person. Some red flags we just walked past. Yet, we feel disappointed, expecting better from them after ignoring the warning signs.
So we compiled a list of Pakistani male celebrities who have been accused of sexual harassment. To help us stay on guard in times to come.
Ali Noor
Last weekend Ayesha Binte Rashid, a Karachi-based journalist, came forward with allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Noor. After the journalist shared screenshots of her WhatsApp chat with the singer from May 2021, Ali Noor was at first somewhat apologetic.
However, he later redacted his apology and resorted to some absurd theatrics.
Meanwhile, others have also come forth alleging they were harassed by the Noori rocker.
Abdullah Qureshi
Another singer wrapped up in harassment allegations. This music producer was accused of inappropriate behavior with young girls in their DMs.
At least he for one, acknowledged his mistake and apologized. However, he too tried to justify his ‘fetishes’.
“I won’t blame my drunken state because it was me at the end of the day. But yes, I did have a drinking problem and I do have fetishes. But everyone has fetishes.”
Ukhano
Several women came forth against the vlogger Umer Khan AKA Ukhano back in 2019. While most accused the influencer of sending them unsolicited sexual messages, one leveled more serious allegations.
People suggested that he used his fame and influence to interact with them and ask for ‘bold pictures’.
Ukhano denied all allegations and claimed to have ‘visual evidence to prove my innocence.’ He later released a documentary about his ordeal but only raised more questions.
Omair Rana
The Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay actor was accused of sexual harassment amid the Lahore Grammer School scandal. He had been a teacher at LGS.
An Instagram page that was dedicated to sharing the stories of the numerous young girls that faced harassment at the hands of their male teachers also named Omair Rana as a perpetrator.
“I’m sure if you bring up the name Omair Rana, you’ll get a million stories as well.”
To add insult to injury, his wife, Maria, was accused of knowing about her husband’s criminal behavior and allegedly helped with the cover-up.
Ali Zafar
Back in 2018, shock waves rippled through the industry as the biz was divided between supporting Meesha Shafi and defending Ali Zafar when the former accused the latter of sexual harassment by singer Meesha Shafi.
The Gal Sunn singer took the matter to court and since then, the two have been entangled in a long legal dispute.
Shafi accused Zafar of groping her during a rehearsal back in December 2017. She also alleged that wasn’t the first time Zafar inappropriately touched her.
The Teefa in Trouble actor then filed countersuits for defamation. Ali Zafar claimed that Meesha Shafi was doing all of this to;
“gain international recognition and become like Malala.”
Despite the allegations against these men not much has been done to protect vulnerable women from them. Particularly as their careers remain intact with a massive following.
