As soon as the month of Ramzan begins, a variety of channels start shifting their gears and airing special programs and transmissions because their audience is more interested in learning about religion than they are about watching political shows. Ramzan transmissions have a fan following of their own and have become immensely popular for both good or bad reasons.
These transmissions happen to have been hosted by various Pakistani celebrities this year. We take a look at who is gracing our TV screens this Ramzan.
Maria Khan
Maria Khan and Saim Ali are hosting a Ramzan transmission on Channel 5. This is the first time that these two celebrities are seen hosting a Ramzan show together.
Javeria Saud
Javeria Saud has been hosting various Ramzan transmissions throughout the year on different TV channels. This year, however, she is hosting a show at her own house with her kids.
In her show, she is seen inviting religious scholars to her house who engage in Islamic talks, share recipes, and her children accompany her in reciting Naat.
Juggan Kazmi
Juggan Kazmi, a former Pakistani actress, also started hosting Ramzan transmissions a long time ago. This year, she is also seen hosting a program by the name Shehar-e-Ramzan, which airs on City 42 regularly.
Amir Liaquat
Amir Liaquat, who may well be called the pioneer of such Ramzan transmissions, is obviously in on the scene. He is hosting a show on Express Entertainment.
Due to the novel Coronavirus, however, everyone on the set is observing social distancing. The show does not have a live audience either. The scholars are also seen sitting at a distance.
Its safe to say that Amir Liaquat is to Ramzan transmissions what a khajoor (date) is to iftaari; you can’t have one without the other.
Ahsan Khan
PTV has always maintained a standard when it comes to running these transmissions during Ramzan. This year, Ahsan Khan is the host for the transmission on PTV.
The show revolves around the idea that the audience should take away a powerful Islamic message learned from the various conversations between Islamic scholars.
Reema Khan
Reema Khan, one of the most famous celebrities in the Pakistani industry, is seen hosting a show on AAJ TV. The show goes by the name Barane Ramzan.
Reema Khan left showbiz as an actress a long time ago, however, she has been seen on TV as a guest and a host at different points in time. This year, she hosts a show in which she invites Pakistani celebrities who share how they manage Ramzan and their work side by side. They are also seen sharing their Ramzan routines with the audience.
This year, celebrities such as Iqra Yasir, Ayeza Khan, Nabeel Zafar, and Farhan Ali Waris have been invited as guests on her show.
Ramzan transmissions are a way to elevate the Ramzan spirit while sending out messages of hope, positivity, and Islamic teachings. Therefore, this year, so many celebrities are seen hosting a variety of such shows.
