Pakistan’s Oscar-Nominated Joyland Set to be Released in India

Joyland is doing wonders.

Pakistan’s Oscar-nominated film Joyland is set to make its Indian debut, following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in the United States.

The production team of the film has confirmed that it will be released in India, as well as in other countries around the world.

Directed by Saeem Sadiq, Joyland tells the story of a young dancer who engages in an extra-marital affair with a biological male transgender woman.

The film stars Ali Junejo and Aleena Khan in the lead roles and has been praised for its unique storyline and powerful performances.

The film also boasts an impressive team of executive producers including actor and director Riz Ahmed and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.

The cast of Joyland includes well-known Pakistani actors such as Sania Saeed, Sarwat Gillani, Rusti Farooq, Salman Pirzada, and Sohail Sameer.

This marks the first time in over a decade that a Pakistani film will be released in Indian cinemas, with the last being Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol in 2011.

Joyland has received mixed reactions from audiences, with some slamming the film for promoting vulgarity and misrepresenting Pakistani society while others have praised it for bringing out the truth.
