Pari Gul Tareen Makes History As 1st Female ASP in Balochistan

One to go down in the history books!

In a historical first, Balochistan just got its first female Assistant Superintendent Police (ASP). Pari Gul Tareen is now Balochistan’s first female ASP.

After passing the Central Superior Services(CSS) exam back in 2017, this female officer joined the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP). Now this CSS officer has been appointed to the position of ASP in Quetta Cantt.

This woman who made history, is a Balochistan native herself hailing from district Pishin. In an interview with Punjab Safe Cities Authority, she revealed how the police uniform inspired her to protect and serve.

“46th common PSP (ASP) lady police Officer from Balochistan ASP Pari Gul Tareen. She passed CSS exam and joined PSP group as a first choice to become a Police officer. ASP Pari Gul is the first lady from Balochistan to come in Police department as a PSP officer”

Pari Gul also opened up about how she is where she is today thanks to her supportive husband. According to Punjab Safe Cities Authority;

“She dedicated all her success to her husband who supported her to prepare her CSS exams.”

She might be the first of many female PSP officers to serve in Balochistan, another young woman from Balochistan also cleared her CSS exam in 2018. Kainat Azhar Khan has cleared CSS 2018 and has been allocated to the PSP group. Kainat is still under training.
