PEMRA Orders Hum TV to Change Name of Drama Serial “Kun Faya Kun”

The original name hurt religious sentiments.

On the directives of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulation Authority (PEMRA), the name of Hum TV drama serial Kun Faya Kun has been changed.

The serial will now be called ‘Jo Tu Chahey’. All upcoming episodes will adopt this name.

Why The Name Change for Kun Faya Kun?

The regulatory authority said in a Twitter post that several complaints were received on Pakistan Citizen Portal about the OST and the title of the drama.

It was observed that the title was extracted from a Quranic verse and hurt religious sentiments of some viewers.

Directed by Ilyas Kashmiri and produced by Qaisera Hayat, the telefilm was produced under the MD Productions’ banner.

The drama serial features Imran Abbas, Alizey Shah and Zarnish Khan in the lead roles.

There is no word on when the changes will be made to the original soundtrack of the drama serial. But we expect it could happen soon.
