The month of Ramadan is that time of the year when celebrities do their best impressions of being pious and humble Muslim hosts of their own Ramadan special on TV network. All of their past shenanigans seem to disappear. Even controversial personality Aamir Liaquat ‘tries’ his best to stay under the radar.
However, some things never change. The ‘doctor’ gets to take center stage to do what he does best, host a highly unconventional ( and often times cheap) Ramadan special on a network.
It should come as no surprise to see that he has been reported to PEMRA several times over the years, however, people seem far more serious about his removal this time around.
It seems like Aamir Liaquat Hussain isn’t satisfied with the ratings of Express TV’s Ramadan transmission as the host cum televangelist has been making some rather insensitive remarks about various personalities. In order to give a boost to his channel’s ratings, he started adopting cheap antics, doing all in his power to get people to notice the show. But it seems everything has backfired on Aamir Liaquat.
Known for toeing the line all the time, Aamir Liaquat is on the receiving end of a backlash because of the last aired episode of his Ramadan Transmission. People are accusing him of spreading sectarianism and trying to target a specific religious sect in society.
People have been calling out Aamir Liaquat Hussain on Twitter, and also demanding from PEMRA, the Pakistani media regulatory body, to ban Aamir Liaquat for good. Here’s what Twitter has been saying:

Dr. Amir Liaquat is an idiot who professes to be Muslim scholar. Ironically he’s neither a doctor nor a scholar. He has a fake degree in both disciplines. He is a cheap, indecent, rogue character who depicts these traits in all programs that he hosts. Express News/PEMRA would be doing a great service to Pakistan by getting rid of him and putting a permanent ban on him so that we do not ever get to see his evil face again.
