Netflix is facing a new controversy and it’s no surprise why. Recently, the online streaming provider announced an original series called Messiah, which is allegedly based on the story about the arrival of Dajjal (Anti-Christ).
What Exactly Is The Show?
The show follows the story of a man (played by Mehdi Dehbi) who emerges in Syria and captures everyone’s attention with his shady actions and miracles. Claiming to be the messiah – the son of God, and people all over the world start following him.
Unbeknownst to everyone, the man is actually the Anti-Christ. A CIA agent (played by Michelle Monaghan) Eva Geller is determined to find out the mysterious origins of this so-called messiah.

Instant Backlash From Subscribers
Since the release of the show’s trailer, people worldwide are threatening to cancel their Netflix subscriptions. People believe that the show is disrespectful to various religious beliefs and see it as a sign of the end of times. And to make matters worse, the actor’s real name is Mehdi!

Whether you’re a Christian or a Muslim, we’ve all been taught about ‘Dajjal’ and how his arrival signals the end of the world as we know it. People are already aware of the show’s plotline and how it will play out.

The subject matter of the antichrist or devil is not something new in Hollywood. We’ve all seen films like The Exorcist and The Omen. However, none of those films have ever been so obvious and relevant to religious subtexts like this new series.
