PM Imran Khan Strongly Recommends Turkish Biographical Series Yunus Emre

Here’s what he said.

Yunus Emre

After the massive success of Dirilis Ertugrul, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday recommended the Turkish biographical series Yunus Emre for anyone that is interested in Sufism.

Earlier this year, the premier requested PTV to translate Dirilis Ertugrul for the Pakistani audience. Little did we know, the Turkish period drama would set new records in the country.

Pakistanis absolutely loved it and within a few weeks of the telecast on national television, Erturgul became the ‘best drama’ for local audience.

Fast forward now, PTV has started airing another historical and biographical masterpiece and PM Imran Khan seems to be liking it a lot.

He took to his Twitter to share his thoughts and recommended everyone to watch the Urdu-dubbed version on national television

“I strongly recommend the serial Yunus Emre being shown on PTV for all those who are interested in Sufism (Marayfat).”

The drama is based on the life of the 13th century Sufi poet of the same name, who greatly influenced the Anatolian culture. It has been retitled as Raah-e-Ishq in Urdu for the Pakistani audience.
