Prime Minister (PM) Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif announced that the Government of Pakistan will bear the expenses of actor Firdous Jamal’s cancer treatment.
According to reports, he called Firdous Jamal personally and assured him that the nation is praying for his speedy recovery as well.
The veteran actor’s son, Hamza Firdous, expressed his gratitude for the kind gesture in an Instagram post:
Honorable Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif Sahab, our entire family is deeply touched by the concern and kindness shown by your office for our father’s health. We are humbled, and grateful to you, for personally speaking to my father and reassuring him that the Federal government stands by him in this tough time.

A few days ago the actor’s son Hamza Firdous announced this news in a heart-breaking caption about the senior actor’s health condition and asked his fans for prayers. He is under treatment at Shaukat Khanum hospital.
Firdous Jamal is a veteran Pakistani actor who is known for his brilliant acting skills. Jamal started his career in Hindko dramas and has worked in more than 300 television plays and 150 stage plays.
The Pyaray Afzal star often came under fire for his mean comments on successful actors. His ageist remarks about Mahira Khan landed him in hot waters after which he was banned from the activities on Hum TV. And now recently he commented on the acting of Humayun Saeed.
