Recently, a video had gone viral on the internet which showed a private college professor was being beaten by five to six youths.
The suspects, allegedly his students, forced him to step down from his bike. They tortured him with sticks and shoes. The man kept telling that he was a teacher and does not deserve such treatment. However, the boys didn’t stop, with one of them saying that the professor had beaten him in the past and now he wanted ‘revenge’.
The incident occurred in Multan earlier this month and the teacher was identified as Muhammad Ijaz, a resident of Chowk Shaheedaan.

FIR Lodged
Ijaz lodged an FIR with the Cant Police Station, revealing that he had received a call from a female student who had requested him for private tuition. Ijaz said he initially declined the offer due to his busy schedule but later agreed after continuous nagging from the girl.
When he reached Bukhari Colony as per the address conveyed to him, he called her again. The girl asked him to wait as she was sending her brother to receive him.
There, five to six youths came on bikes with sticks and started beating him brutally. One of them recorded the whole scene on his phone camera. He alleged that the boys snatched Rs. 20,000 from him and threatened him to stay quiet or they will make the video viral. He could not resist because one of them had a gun, Ijaz said in his complaint.

According to the Cant Police, they had arrested one of the suspects from the video and presented him before the Magistrate the next day where Ijaz forgave him.
The video, however, went viral on the internet, prompting Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take notice of the issue.
Ijaz later told media that he was forced to reconcile with the culprits who belonged to influential families. But now that CM Punjab has taken the action, he wanted them to be punished as per law.
He also showed his confidence for the Cantt Police who had assured him of complete protection.
