She wasn’t aware of the story at first.

Not everyone that is part of ‘Meray Pass Tum Ho‘ cast is proud of the drama serial. Actress Rehmat Ajmal for one does not endorse the ideas projected in the drama serial.

Particularly after the writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s controversial interview elaborating how infidelity is standard for a woman but not a man, there was a lot of backlash surrounding the serial.

People then pointed out a problematic pattern of thinking and the consequent creations of the writer.

Actress Rehmat Ajmal, who plays Mehwish’s friend Ayesha in the drama serial, stated that she only became aware of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s problematic views ‘WAY after the project was completed‘.
