Resham Refuses to Shoot Scenes for “The Legend of Maula Jatt”

The senior Lollywood actress said she had other commitments

It seems like ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ faces another hiccup, this time involving a senior Pakistani actress who was asked to appear in the movie.

First, they had to reschedule the release date of the film due to copyright saga (which was recently settled down). And now, senior Lollywood actress Resham has refused to shoot scenes for the movie. She based her decision on her having other commitments.

According to media reports, Resham excused herself from appearing for shootings as she wasn’t given an early heads-up about it. The idea being that they interfered with her prior commitments.

The actress said that during these past few months, she received many phone calls from the production team regarding the shootings. However, they used to get canceled every time and she had to make significant reshuffles in her schedule.

“And now, when I was pre-occupied with other tasks, the team suddenly called me for recording. I had no choice but to excuse myself,” the actress added.

The news came days after Bilal Lashari won the legal battle surrounding the ownership rights of the film. However, this impact the movie’s release dates, pushing them further for the second time.

The Legend of the Maula Jatt, which was set to hit screens this Eidul Fitr, has now been delayed once again. Producer Ammara Hikmat said on Twitter they will announce the new release date very soon.

The Legend of Maula Jatt has become one of the most anticipated movies of this year, featuring a star-studded cast of Fawad Khan, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mahira Khan, and many others.
