‘Saawan’ Joins List of Pakistani Movies on Netflix

Another cultural win!

In recent times, Pakistani films have scored big in the local as well as the International box office. Meanwhile, the film Saawan hit a milestone of its’ own.

Films such as Teefa in Trouble, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 and Punjab Nahi Jaungi have managed to hit the fifty crore mark at the box office. But there are some other movies which have received worldwide recognition for their captivating storylines.

In such an instance, Pakistani suspense drama film Saawan has made its’ way to the streaming giant Netflix. The film now joins the ranks of Pakistani films such as Janaan, Cake, O’ Rangreza and Waar to be available for streaming on Netflix.

Yes, now you can stream the movie on one of the biggest online streaming networks. The film has an IMDb rating of 7.9/10.

Saawan Plot

The movie is based on the true story of an outcast polio survivor, who sets on a journey to connect with his mother.

The Saawan cast includes Saleem Mairaj, Imran Aslam, Tipu Sharif, Syed Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Abbas, Sehrish Qadri, and Sohail Malik. It also includes renowned Pashto and Urdu film and drama actress Najiba Faiz. Najiba Faiz plays the role of Saawan’s mother.

Saawan List of Awards

The movie won the ‘Best Foreign Language Feature Film‘ at Madrid International Film Festival 2017. It was also nominated for various other international awards.
