News that Pakistani actress Sajal Aly is set to star in Jemima Goldsmith’s What’s Love Got To Do With It already has fans excited. Now the filmmaker posted further verification on her Instagram.
Jemima Goldsmith took to her Instagram to share pictures with the Yaqeen Ka Safar star. Based on the caption the meet-up definitely has to do with Sajal Aly’s debut project in the West. Actor Julian Bucknall clicked the photographs.

It is unclear if he is also a part of the project. Julian is famed for his work in the camera and electrical department. His works include blockbusters like Sherlock Holmes, Captain America: The First Avenger, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, to name a few.
Pakistani fans are particularly excited to see Sajal Aly join the star-studded What’s Love Got To Do With It cast alongside Lily James, Emma Thompson and Shazad Latif.
Jemima Goldsmith has penned the script and is producing the romantic comedy under the banner of her Instinct Productions. The rom-com about cross-cultural romance, love, and marriage. The movie is set between London and South Asia.
There is already a film by the same name released back in 1993. The movie is based on the autobiography of iconic singer Tina Turner.

The movie will be directed by Indian director Shekhar Kapur. This will mark Shekhar Kapur’s directorial comeback, since his 2007 feature film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age. It is unclear if the All Indian Cine Workers Association’s (AICWA) ban on working with Pakistani artists or technical staff will affect Shekhar Kapur’s decision on staying with the venture.
AICWA has previously warned Indian creators and artists from working with Pakistani-Americans.
