It has been confirmed that Humayun Saeed is cast to play Dr. Hasnat Khan, in Netflix’s The Crown S5, but not everyone is rooting for him. Sakina Samo is disappointed that Fawad Khan wasn’t cast instead.
Variety confirmed the news that the veteran actor-cum-filmmaker would be seen as Dr. Hasnat Khan, Princess Diana’s love interest in season five of the hit Netflix series. However, neither the Punjab Nahi Jaungi producer nor Netflix haven’t confirmed the news yet.
Looks like veteran actor-cum-director Sakina Samo isn’t happy with the casting. She took to her Twitter handle to condemn the choice of casting by the Netflix makers.
She suggested that Humsafar star Fawad Khan should have been cast instead of the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani actor.
Humayun Saeed will be the first Pakistani to be cast in the Netflix original. He will be seen alongside Australian actor Elizabeth Debicki who has been cast as Princess Diana. The Crown S5 fill follow Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ marriage falling apart. The aftermath and her tragic death in August 1997.
Dr. Hasnat Khan, is a British-Pakistani surgeon that became somewhat of a celeb due to his romantic affiliation with Princess Diana. In May 1996, she visited his family in Lahore too.
Dr. Khan later attended her funeral ceremony in September 1997.
The Crown S5 will premier in November 2022.
