Salahuddin Ayyubi: Meet the Pakistani Actors Selected In First Round of Auditions

The selections of stars for Pak-Turk joint series is still ongoing.

Pakistan and Turkey are collectively bringing the most anticipated project. The leading media companies of the two countries have announced plans to co-produce a television series based on the life of revered Muslim general, Salahuddin Ayyubi.

Salahuddin Ayyub was a great warrior. He was a Sunni-Muslim Kurd who became the first sultan of both Egypt and Syria and founded the Ayyubid Dynasty. Salahuddin, also known in the West as ‘Saladin’ is one of the most celebrated Muslim leaders around the world.

Over 6,000 professional and emerging actors and actresses had applied for the auditions for the Islamic warrior series. But only 62 were short-listed to be screened in Pakistan and Turkey simultaneously. Actors Ushna Shah, Ayesha Omer, Adnan Jilani, and Farhan Agha are reportedly selected in the first round of auditions held in Karachi and Lahore.

Pakistan’s Ansari Films (owned by Dr. Kashif Ansari) & Shah Films (Owned by Dr. Junaid Ali Shah) and Emre Konuk, owner of Turkey’s Akli Films have signed a contract for the joint entertainment venture. The most celebrated actor Humayun Saeed along with the famous Adnan Siddiqui were selected as executive producer of this amazing project.

Adnan Siddiqui announced this joint venture on his social media account by saying,

“Taking our commitment to strengthen ties with Turkey further, we embark on a new chapter of this friendship that, we hope, would lead to the exchange of fabulous ideas and talent. It’s a win-win for our industries and our audience who should look forward to some good content coming their way. Have collaborated with ….. To produce a magnum opus on the great warrior king, Salahuddin Ayyubi. Please partake in our happiness.”

The Turkish producer also exchanged his views with the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan about this historic series as he is also the admirer of this legendry warrior. Quoting the prime minister he said,

“Prime Minister Khan believes that this project will resonate in the world and that it will also be very valuable for the younger generations.”

The series is already garnering a lot of attention from all around even before its making. It is set to be shot in Turkey on historic sets particularly made for the series.
