Sara Ali Khan called Bollywood megastar Shahrukh Khan an ‘uncle’ at the Filmfare awards and fans are now trolling her.
Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan. Given how SRK and Saif are friends, that would make SRK her uncle (based on Desi tradition).
So when Sara Ali Khan, 23, called King Khan, 53, as ‘Uncle’, then why is the Internet having a meltdown?

Saif Ali Khan most famously starred opposite Bollywood Badshah in the film Kal Ho Na Ho back in 2003.
Let us look at what the trolls are saying about the whole thing:

Who trolled her? Nobody does that, don't try to get attention on the name of SRK brand, Although in this business she cannot call s main stream leading actor who can possibly paired with her, leave this papa mummy age outside of the Bollywood,

Some Fans Come to Sara Ali Khan’s Defence
We think that was a gross overreaction. And apparently there are other people who are saying the same thing:

In the end that ball is in SRK’s court, so perhaps we should all learn to relax here:
Has the 'uncle' himself any problems with her addressing him so? .. most likely NO.

Time to Change a Bollywood Trend?
Bollywood has been casting male leading stars with significantly younger female debuts. This practice was not uncommon in classic Hollywood either (but they’ve come a long way).
Just to quote one example, Alia Bhatt is set to star opposite Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film Inshallah.

Shah Rukh Khan has been cast opposite Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone, who were many years younger to him in films such as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Om Shanti Om.
Perhaps one day, this may not be the norm anymore. But for now, everyone needs to take a chill pill.
