Sarwat Gillani Shuts Down Troll Who Said ‘Award Shows Are All About Nudity’

Sarwat Gillani is having none of it!

Lux Style Awards are labeled the most glamorous event show hosted by Pakistan (the only award show really). And of course, all the whos-who of Lollywood were there, like Sarwat Gillani.

The recently-held 18th Lux Style Awards made headlines for many reasons. From the stars across the red carpet to Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain lights, camera, action moment…. err, we mean proposal.

From Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar, Maya Ali, to Sadaf Kanwal, and Sarwat Gillani all the biggest celebs came out dressed to impress at the Karachi Expo Centre.

Some things may be new this time around like controversy in Iqra Aziz’s engagement with Yasir Hussain (not really though, since it’s Yasir).

And then there are the usual trolls who just want to shame women over their wardrobe choices.

Sarwat Gillani Is Not Going to Suffer Trolls

This time around Sarwat Gillani came home to degrading comments about her red carpet look.

One trolled dubbed the LSA about just being ‘all about nudity‘. That’s when Sarwat Gillani clapped back saying ‘it’s about what you choose to focus on

“Yahan tou burkha pehni hovee aurtoun ko koi nahi chorta tou problem kaproun mai nahi NAZAR mai hai!

(even women wearing a burkha are not spared, so the problem is not in clothing rather in your gaze!)”

Some trolls went as far as to blame celebrities for rape in society. Of course, rampant rape in society has nothing to do with teaching men how women are mere objects and therfore not worthy of respect. Most of these trolls tend to think that respect is deserved only for one’s mothers and sisters.

Coincidentally these trolls happen to be the ones who bring up toxic masculinity. Men who are respectful and don’t ogle are not ‘man enough‘ according to them.

“To the boys who are supporting her, bro you need an injection of testosterone”

While Sarwat Gillani did not respond to that rape comment, that didn’t stop her fans from doing so.

“No dear, Stop thinking like a rapist.”

Regardless of what the trolls say, Sarwat Gillani has places to be. And it certainly seems like she had an amazing night at the LSA.
