The recently-held 18th Lux Style Awards made headlines for many reasons. From the stars across the red carpet to Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain lights, camera, action moment…. err, we mean proposal.

This time around Sarwat Gillani came home to degrading comments about her red carpet look.

One trolled dubbed the LSA about just being ‘all about nudity‘. That’s when Sarwat Gillani clapped back saying ‘it’s about what you choose to focus on‘
“Yahan tou burkha pehni hovee aurtoun ko koi nahi chorta tou problem kaproun mai nahi NAZAR mai hai!
(even women wearing a burkha are not spared, so the problem is not in clothing rather in your gaze!)”

Some trolls went as far as to blame celebrities for rape in society. Of course, rampant rape in society has nothing to do with teaching men how women are mere objects and therfore not worthy of respect. Most of these trolls tend to think that respect is deserved only for one’s mothers and sisters.
Coincidentally these trolls happen to be the ones who bring up toxic masculinity. Men who are respectful and don’t ogle are not ‘man enough‘ according to them.

While Sarwat Gillani did not respond to that rape comment, that didn’t stop her fans from doing so.

Regardless of what the trolls say, Sarwat Gillani has places to be. And it certainly seems like she had an amazing night at the LSA.
