The trailer of Bollywood’s much-awaited film, Adipurush, starring Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas, and Kriti Sanon was recently released and the internet roasted the ‘epic’ film about the Hindu mythological gods for its laughable CGI effects.

The mega-budget (INR 500 crore) film is under immense scrutiny for its ‘special effects’ and people are also calling its makers out for lazily copying scenes from famous Hollywood movies and TV shows like Game of Thrones, Avengers: Endgame, Aquaman, Rise of the Planets of the Apes, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Thor: Ragnorak.

Here are a few hilarious online reactions to the trailer.

You know things are bad when one of the credited producers distances themselves from the film. Netizens found out that Prasad Sutar, one of the co-founders of Ajay Devgn’s NY VFXwaala, was credited as the VFX supervisor. People online went after Sutar, holding him responsible for the awful CGI for the film.

Indian film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to inform the masses that NY VFXwaala has issued a public clarification note as well.

It read:

Leading VFX studio, NY VFXwaala has clarified that they have not worked/are not working on the CGI special effects of Adipurush. An official note on their behalf clarified, ‘we are putting this on record because we have been asked by a few media people’.

Based on the Hindu tale, Ramayana, Adipurush is directed by Om Raut and features Saif Ali Khan and the Tamil actor Prabhas. The film is slated for 2023 release on 12 January.
