Pakistani actor, Shaan Shahid, has recently been getting into brawls on social media about the Turkish historical drama Diriliş: Ertuğrul. It is visibly clear that the Waar hero has opposed the idea of promoting a show that wasn’t produced by Pakistani talent.
Recently, Shaan posted a Tweet against the show yet again, but this time his tweet was soon deleted. Let’s find out what happened.
The 49-year-old actor who has worked in countless hit movies, like Khuda Kay Liye, took to his Twitter account to reveal that PTV charged around 7 billion per year to air a show that is already available for viewers on Netflix.
His decision to delete the Tweet might have been a result of fans and followers putting forth logical arguments that the actor might have been ignorant of.
Many flooded his post and explained to him how the Netflix version of Ertugrul only has English subtitles whereas PTV is airing an Urdu-dubbed version for the Pakistani viewers. So, it goes without saying that a lot of work was put into the show by PTV before they decided to air it.
While others debated that Netflix is not so common among the Pakistani viewers, but PTV is available on every tv set.
Other users came forward with a low-blow, however, and we commend Shaan for tackling it the right way:

Attacking someone’s religion for their opinions over a show should not have been the fans’ go-to strategy.

Regardless to say, some Pakistani celebrities are opposed by the idea of airing Turkish shows, like Shaan Shahid, should work towards making their own content better. Diriliş: Ertuğrul should be taken as a lesson instead of a threat.

Until now in Pakistan’s history,many Indian and English plays/movies have been shown. Many Turkish plays have gone air.These actors have always admired their work. Many wished to work in Hollywood and Bollywood. These actors have never mind people idealising the Indian actors. Now what’s gone wrong now. Just because this drama is promoting love for Islam???
We don’t care whatever you say. We, Pakistanis love this drama and will keep watching it. So live with your jealousies and threat and produce something worth watching.
