Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters have been struggling to come to terms after Prime Minister Imran Khan was removed from office. However, looks like Shahid Afridi is willing to step in as a substitute.
In a recent interview about the political situation in Pakistan, the cricketer stated how Imran Khan has always been his leader. Adding how he now wants to try and be a leader like that.
“Imran Khan is always my hero, I always wanted to be like him. Imran Khan is a vision of a leader. He talks about justice, corruption etc. a sportsman’s comeback is always strong after realizing his mistakes and then correct it.”

Of course, this stirred discussions about how this was a long time coming. People had been speculating that the sportsman’s philanthropic efforts are for a political career. Something he occasionally refuted or stated that he can’t comment on.

Then there were people actually encouraging him to take up politics.

Others were opposed to the idea.

Then there was just trolling.

What do you think? Would you want to see Shahid Afridi take up politics and perhaps step in as an alternative candidate like Imran Khan? Or have we all come to terms with the age-old two-party system? Let us know in the comments below.
