Shoaib Malik Compares Himself to SRK and Novak Djokovic [Video]

The Karachi Kings’ player proved that age is just a number.

Karachi Kings’ Shoaib Malik compared himself to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and tennis star, Novak Djokovic during the PSL post-match press conference last night.

The veteran cricketer silenced a journalist who took a subtle dig at Malik’s age, referring to him as ‘old is gold’ after his heroics with the bat against Peshawar Zalmi.

Shoaib Malik schooled the cheeky journalist by citing examples of SRK and the Serbian tennis star, emphasizing on the fact that age is just a number.

Shoaib Malik said,

Shah Rukh Khan did a movie recently, he was also looking like ‘old is gold’. We should not put too much emphasis on age. If Novak Djokovic can win a grand slam at the age of 36, then we should see whether a person can compete with a youngster or not. We should also see if we don’t have to hide a senior player in the field or he doesn’t disturb dressing room’s environment.

Malik went on to add that “rules should be the same for everyone” and there should not be different for aged players.

Shoaib Malik played a vital knock of 52 runs from 34 deliveries to keep Karachi Kings alive in the hotly-contested match against Peshawar Zalmi last night, striking four boundaries and two massive sixes.
