Famed filmmaker Shoaib Mansoor has been on a hiatus since Verna in 2016. While that film didn’t do well, the director reinvented Pakistani cinema in 2007 with Khuda Kay Liye.
Now one of the biggest names in Pakistani cinema is rumored to be returning for another silver screen project.
Last time Shoaib Mansoor was on a hiatus was for six years after Bol. Now Entertainment.pk reports the ace director won’t be taking a break for too long.

According to their sources, the ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ music video director is already onto his next project. We can expect a Shoaib Mansoor film released in 2020. The source added that a lot of work has gone into the project. However, ‘the particulars of the project cannot be disclosed as yet’.
2020 already has an amazing film-line-up and if these rumors have any substance, a Shoaib Mansoor film will only add to the competition.

As a director, Shoaib Mansoor is the most marketable brand in Lollywood. Pakistanis tend to view films based on their celebrity fanbases.
His claim to fame came with innovative drama serials from the Pakistan Television era. His works include Alpha Bravo Charlie, Ankahi, Sunhere Din, etc.
The filmmaker reinvented Pakistani cinema and started an era of modern contemporary cinema with his 2007 film Khuda Kay Liye. The film became the highest-grossing film of its time.

This was followed by a four-year break, and then came Shoaib Mansoor’s second blockbuster Bol. The 2011 movie became the first film in the history to hit the PKR 100 million mark.
Another success followed by a silent spell of six years. Then in 2016 came Verna. The film had a difficult subject matter and audiences didn’t take to well to the approach.
The director always takes a long break before his next project. Now everyone early awaits his next release.
