Recently Pakistani actress Sonya Hussyn voiced an unpopular opinion about movie star Mahira Khan’s Raees. Now, filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has slammed her for it.
A three years old clip of the Saraab actress but surfaced online leading to all the discussion on the matter. Back in 2018, during her appearance on Yasir Hussain’s ‘The After Moon Show‘, Sonya Hussyn voiced an unpopular opinion.

During a rapid-fire round on the show, Yasir Hussain asked the Tichh Button actress that if she was Mahira Khan, which one of her film would she have not done?
The Ishq Zahey Naseeb actor was given three options: Verna, Raees, and Ho Mann Jahan.
Sonya said Raees. She then explained her choice stating that;
“No never it’s not my dream to work with Shah Rukh Khan, … You should [play] the character in which you are prominent and [is] not the side [kick] of the hero.”
The starlet would have wanted a more central role than play secondary to a male protagonist, as it is with most Bollywood movies.
However, given Bollywood Badshah’s star power, SRK films always make it big at the box office and so did Raees. In fact, it did so well it’s in the 100 Crore club.
Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy didn’t like what the Azaad actress had to say. The filmmaker slammed the actress saying;
“Don’t think you’ll ever be Mahira Khan so you won’t ever get to say no. Don’t dis other women in the industry reflects poorly on you and your upbringing.”

Well in my opinion l think Sharmeen Obaid chinoy actually represent her own upbringing rather than Sonya Husain.I mean “kuch bhi “,be professional, everyone has their own right to say yes or no to one’s opinion. Pakistani Women are so powerful,talented and intelligent that, they don’t need anybody shoulder to become famous in the industry.
