The situation in India is quite bleak these days, especially since the announcement of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act.
Actress Sonam Kapoor made an appeal on social media on Sunday night. She asked her fans to be on the right side of history. Her take is that people should call out the things that are wrong with Indian society and the government these days.
There have been mass protests and violence in which even a couple of mosques were set on fire by frenzied mobs. Following these incidents, some Bollywood celebrities have decided to raise their voice on the matter. One of them is actress Sonam Kapoor.
“This is an appeal. You will forever regret it otherwise,” the actress tweeted.
Be on the right side of history. This is an appeal. You will forever regret it otherwise.

Sonam is not the only celebrity who wants to shed light on this alarming issue as earlier, poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar spoke up against the violence.
So many killed , so many injured , so many house burned , so many shops looted so many people turned destitutes but police has sealed only one house and looking for his owner . Incidentally his name is Tahir . Hats off to the consistency of the Delhi police .

Other notable names such as Swara Bhaskar, Raveena Tandon, director Mahesh Bhatt, Anurag Kashyap and Pooja Bhatt have also openly condemned the violence against India’s capital. However, some of the biggest and influential figures like Salman Khan, Amir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singth and even superstar Shahrukh Khan have remained silent so far.
Last week, violence erupted after protests showed up in New Delhi against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act. Clashes erupted after supporters of the Citizenship Amendment Act, which restricts the naturalization and inflow of Muslim refugees to India, attacked anti-government protest sites. People set fire to a mosque and 18 people were killed as a result.
Some reports stated that a mob shouting ‘Jai Sri Ram’ paraded around the mosque in Ashok Nagar. Videos of the incident circulated on social media showing people climbing the mosque’s minaret to hang a saffron flag. It remains to be seen how this atrocious violence is handled by the Indian government. Stay posted for more updates.
