Sonya Hussyn Shares Details of ‘Tich Button’ Non-Payment Case Involving Producer Urwa Hocane [Video]

She revealed why she singled Urwa Hocane out.

The controversy between actress Sonya Hussyn and one of Tich Button‘s producers, Urwa Hocane, is making headlines again. The lead actress of the film filed a legal case against the latter over a non-payment dispute last month, stating a ‘breach of contract’, and is now demanding Rs. 5 million from Urwa Hocane in damages.

However, when Urwa Hocane was asked about it, she stated that she was unaware of the legal notice for the case in question.

Subsequently, Sonya Hussyn recently appeared on the Express TV show, The Talk Talk Show, and addressed the matter. She said that sending Urwa Hocane the legal notice was her last option as she had waited patiently for her dues for two years.

She explained,

I took Urwa’s name because Urwa was the only producer who approached me. She was the main face behind it; she was the one who signed the contract with me. That’s why I sent her the notice. I addressed Urwa specifically because I had a contract with her. The legal approach was the last option.

Sonya Hussyn also disclosed that added that many people, including the Tich Button team and producers, and lawyers, are trying to resolve the dispute through meetings and discussions.

Promotional events for the film are on a roll but the Saraab actress is not taking an active part in any of them.

She remarked, “I think, everyone knows now why I’m missing from promotions of Tich Button. The thing is out already, the public knows why I’m not seen”.

She added,

The payment dispute was the main issue. Also, sometimes, your chemistry and vibes don’t match with some people and that’s why I’m distant.

The feature film Tich Button is the directorial debut of Qasim Ali Mureed, and is produced by Salman Iqbal and Urwa Hocane (debut production). It stars Iman Ali, Farhan Saeed, Sonya Hussyn, Feroze Khan, Marhoom Ahmad Bilal, Samiya Mumtaz, Humaira Ali, and Marina Khan among others, and work on it officially began in 2019.

The release of the already delayed Lollywood film has been prolonged due to unknown reasons. It was supposed to be released on 11 November but will now be launched worldwide on 25 November.

Fans think that film might have been delayed because of the problems with two lead cast members (Feroze Khan’s domestic abuse issue and Sonya Hussyn’s non-payment problem with Urwa Hocane). However, no official statement in this regard has been issued by any person related to the movie.
