Students Feel ‘Betrayed’ as Shafqat Mahmood Announces Schools to Open 5 Days a Week [Memes]

Federal Minister for Education, Shafqat Mahmood is once again trending on social media as he announced that schools will be allowed to resume five-day, with classes from March 1.

On Thursday, the minister announced that we are slowly returning to normal after almost a year of closure and lockdown. He stated,

“Important announcement. All schools will go back to regular 5 day classes from Monday March 1. Restrictions imposed in some major cities on schools to conduct staggered classes was only till Feb 28.”

In another tweet, he mentioned,

“This announcement applies to every educational institutions in the designated cities where restrictions had been imposed. Allah SWTs infinite mercy that we are returning to normal.”

 

Shafqat Mahmood breaks the hearts of students

Following the announcement, Twitteratis responded with what they do best: hilarious memes. Students are saying that Shafqat Mahmood has ‘broken their hearts’.

For those unaware, the Federal Minister has a strong fan base among the students. Earlier in November 2020, they deemed him as their hero when he announced closing down educational institutes.

The minister said that the health and safety of young students is the first priority for the government, and thus, they had decided to close educational institutes. All examinations were postponed, except for a few specialized exams which took place as usual.

Previously, students tried to convince his daughter, actress Tara to ask him to shut down schools. The actress was bombarded with comments like ‘Abbu ko kahein school band kr dain‘ (Ask your father to close down schools).
