Actress Sunita Marshall posted a video of the pesky locust swarm that is taking over Karachi. Meanwhile, Sindh Agriculture Minister Muhammad Ismail Raho said it does not pose any risk to crops.

Pakistani model and actress Sunita Marshall shared a video of locust swarming outside her house in Karachi on social media. She captioned the video saying;

“Dragonflies migrating, I guess”.

She’s not alone whilst caught in the swarm. The pest invasion is affecting Baharabad, Gulshan Iqbal and Korangi areas as well as many other parts of the metropolis.

According to details, residents of Baharabad, Gulshan Iqbal and Korangi are irked by the critters.

Earlier on Monday, the Plant Protection Department summoned a session to devise a strategy for control and prevention of locust swarm attacks in Karachi. On the other hand, Sindh Agriculture Minister Muhammad Ismail Raho is looking on the bright side. (if you can manage to see in the swarm).

Ismail Raho said:

“The desert locust activity observed in Malir and adjoining areas of Karachi is part of a migration from the summer-monsoon breeding zone towards coastal areas of Balochistan and it does not pose any risk to crops.”

That still isn’t any condolence for Karachites whose lives have been put on hold due to the infestation. The locust swarm has interrupted the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match in Karachi. The players had to cover their eyes and ears to avoid contact with the swarm.
