Rapper Talha Anjum is facing widespread backlash after he waved the Indian flag during a performance in Nepal.
The viral incident occurred while he was performing his track “Kaun Talha,” when an audience member threw the Indian tricolour toward the stage.
Instead of stepping aside or disregarding it, the Young Stunner artist caught the flag, swung it around, and eventually wrapped it around himself. The moment was recorded by fans and circulated widely on social media, triggering immediate outrage.
Many fans argued that the gesture was inappropriate, insensitive, and unnecessary, especially given India’s anti-Pakistan sentiment. They questioned why a Pakistani artist would choose to display the Indian flag on stage at a time when the relations between the two countries have already been hostile.
Following the backlash, Talha Anjum defended his action, saying he would repeat it and that he does not believe in borders when it comes to art. However, his response only fueled further criticism from those who felt he was dismissing public sentiment and ignoring the broader context of regional tensions.
My heart has no place for hate. My art has no borders. If me raising an Indian flag sparks controversy so be it. I’ll do it again.. will never care about the media, the war mongering governments and their propagandas. Urdu Rap is and will always be borderless.. 🇵🇰 🇳🇵 🇮🇳

It is worth noting that since the May conflict, Indian platforms have banned Pakistani content and have blocked several Pakistani celebrities’ accounts in India. Even in cricket, Indian players avoid shaking hands with their Pakistani counterparts during the 2025 Asia Cup and refused to accept the tournament trophy from Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
