Teen Kills Himself When Stopped from Playing PUBG in Lahore

An unfortunate incident.

Has video game addiction claimed another life? According to reports, another young life has been lost after his parents forbid him from playing PUBG in Pakistan.

In a shocking turn of events, a 16-year-old boy took his own life in Lahore’s Ichhra area on Sunday, August 23. According to sources, the deceased committed suicide after being stopped from playing PUBG by his family members.

PUBG Blamed for more deaths

This isn’t the only case of its kind. In the last 2 months alone, three deaths of young boys in Punjab’s capital Lahore were reported, under similar circumstances.

In June, 2020, 18-year-old Shehryar took his own life when he was stopped to play the online game anymore.

His elder brother told investigators that the teen was an addict of the online game. The two originally belonged to Quetta but were living in Punjab Society situated at Ghazi Road.

Prior to this, a 20-year-old boy took his own life in Saddar Bazaar neighborhood in North Cantonment and a 16-year-old boy claimed his own life in Gulshan-e-Abbas Phase 2 area.

A few days ago, a similar incident was also reported in the state of Punjab, India. According to the reports, a teen, identified as Manik, had an argument with his father over PUBG.

When his father took his smartphone to stop him from playing the game, he shot himself using his father’s licensed revolver.
