People seem to forget that the character is based on a real person who didn’t exactly look like a film star as one tweep pointed out. However, everyone knows that kissing is a big “no-no” for Pakistanis.
Humayun Saeed had a kissing scene in the crown I'm waiting for the country to burst into flames now

It was only a matter of time before we got the classic quote: “is this the Islamic Republic of Pakistan!?”.
Ok I'd been waiting for an opportunity to trash a Pakistani man in this manner #TheCrownNetflix
HUMAYUN SAEED R U MUSLIM? R U 4M ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN OR NOT? IF U WANT TO KISS GORIS THEN LEAVE THIS COUNTRY
SHAME ON THESE BE HAYA MEN

One tweep was certainly not impressed by the London Nahi Jaunga star’s smooch.
My man Humayun Saeed not even knowing how to kiss at 50 is what everybody should be talking about. I think i speak for everyone when i say it was a terrible kiss.

Even after making a Netflix debut for a big international TV series, Humayun can’t still shake off his “Humayun-ness”.
The thing with Humayun Saeed is that even if he is in a scene with princess Diana, you'll keep hearing Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's painful alaap in the background. That's his vibe

Aside from the memes, several Twitterati is highlighting the hypocrisy of Pakistani society not ‘moral policing’ the star. People pointed out that any female actress doing such a scene would face severe public backlash.
Not to undermine Humayun Saeed's achievement in any manner, but if it were a female actress doing a kissing scene instead of him in The Crown, the public would not have welcomed it the way they have now. The double standards of our society are sickening.

It’s not just the actresses who get criticized. Ahad Raza Mir recently received backlash for his steamy scene on Netflix’s Resident Evil series as well. Perhaps, it’s Humayun Saeed’s immense popularity and fan admiration that has apparently protected him from such criticism. What do you think?
