German Youth Ambassador Marion Pfennigs can’t help but head up to the green hills of Margalla to beat the heat. Looks like she’s really gotten a hang of being an Islamabad native.
The culture and youth ambassador went exploring with Pakistani travel blogger Amber Zulfiqar. Margalla Hills has many small streams hidden in the dense foliage but hikers have mapped out many of them.
So nice to go explore the #Margalla hills and find all the hidden streams to cool off during the heat. And lovely to hike with the expert travel blogger @Cheese_Pakora who has told me all about her trips up north. Can’t wait to travel again 😷✈️🏔🇵🇰 pic.twitter.com/obC6t5Marg

So finding a quiet stream can be a hassle in the summer when everyone heads into the tree for the shade and the cool streams. Especially on Trail 5.

These two ladies managed to find a quiet stream to cool off, but Marion Pfennings might have been bitten by a travel bug in the process.
Amber Zulfiqar’s tales of her recent trip up North have motivated the German youth ambassador to do some traveling too.

So when is she headed back up North?
#2018WasLike…the year that I moved to Pakistan. And what a year it was!! Here are my top three pictures: my first ever picture on twitter creating awareness on how to #savewater, of the trip of a lifetime to the north and taking part in #PAK history monitoring the elections pic.twitter.com/9mw14msT5m

Since Marion Pfennings arrived in Pakistan back in 2018, she has spent time extensively exploring our country and its diverse regional cultures. A lot of her work involves traveling all across Pakistan a good part of the year.
Best part about my job are the field visits…even better when they include a visit of real fields like in #Sarghoda. Ruined my shoes but learned a lot about #Pakistans agriculture: did you know that 45% of #PAK labour force works in agriculture and 75 % of those are female??! pic.twitter.com/lUO0fvrpt2

In fact, she even made a joke about working not just traveling all the time.
Thank you for hosting us at your office (and giving truth to the fact that I do work sometimes and not only travel the country 😉) https://t.co/Xuy3x6kXqj

She’s been up to Pakistan Northern areas many times. Now that tourism has reopened as the COVID-19 lockdown has been lifted, she might head back up North again.
