British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Christian Turner is all praise for Pakistan and its delicious food. He expressed his love for the culture and cuisine in a recent show.

Pakistani food is all he is raving about

Christian Turner is currently touring Pakistan. He recently appeared on Arshad Sharif’s show on ARY News. The UK diplomat simply enjoyed his visit and expressed his gratitude in Urdu.

“I am enjoying my time in Pakistan. I hope you don’t mind me trying my imperfect Urdu,” he said.

He also talked about the food and said he cannot resist ‘daal’, ‘saag’ or any other local dish. Talking about the food culture in Lahore, he said ‘Lahore Lahore hai’ (Lahore is Lahore) and he got to try so many different types of food there.

“Pakistani food is very delicious. You can give me daal, saag or anything; I really like it. “Lahore is Lahore and they did feed me a lot food. I came back and I had to go on a diet for about a week because all I had done was eat.”

Earlier, he had also shared a photograph of Pakistani food which he tried in Lahore and said that he has become a fan of the city.

Some Biryani to go, please?

On his visit to Pakistan, Christian also met with Murad Ali Shah and pulled off the traditional Sindhi topi and ajrak. He is currently in Karachi and is yet to try Biryani, the must-have cuisine from Karachi. He is down for the taste people.

Christian Turner also talked about cricket, and said that ‘Cricket hamare khoon mein hai’ (Cricket runs in our blood). He said that he would like the England cricket team to play here.

“We have some top English players coming to Pakistan Super League (PSL) this year which is very exciting. Next month, our most prestigious cricket club Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), is bringing a President’s XI to playing a series of matches in Lahore. I hope that is the first step on a path to return of the England team,” he concluded.
