We all know that fast-talking anti-hero Deadpool, made famous by Ryan Reynolds on the big screen. And now the Marvel Comics character has somehow found his way to Lahore, and we can’t get enough of it.
Of all the places, why is this ‘Desi Deadpool’ in Lahore? Maybe he has an affinity for Lahori ‘jugatein’ (sarcastic jokes)? Or maybe it’s his belief that “Jinney Lahore nai vekhya, wo jammiya ee nai” (those who haven’t experienced Lahore, have never lived at all).
Be that as it may, this Desi Deadpool is here to stay.
The People Behind Desi Deadpool
Back in 2016, SK Productions introduced a Desi Deadpool to the Pakistani masses. While the Desi superhero had his moment, he’s now back for his second installment.
It should be mentioned that the second installment is not by the same creator. Rather, Deadpool in Lahore has been brought to you courtesy of ‘DablewTee’ on Facebook.
While the original Desi Deadpool had a mission, this version of Desi Deadpool is more like the anti-hero trying to have a vacation, in Lahore of all places.
The original Desi Deadpool upheld justice. He did so by stopping mobile snatchers, and of course, the oft overlooked crime of cashiers not returning spare change and offering its worth in éclairs. Deadpool quickly put an end to that nonsense (or so we had hoped).
Deadpool in Pakistan
Here’s the second time Desi Deadpool has come to Pakistan:
DablewTee’s Deadpool is basically just loitering around Lahore, and taking pictures with eager fans.
Like some of us, this Deadpool also indulges in antics like vandalism and peeing on public walls. That sounds like Deadpool alright.
If that wasn’t enough, he even steals Frooto boxes from a stranger and bananas from a fruit cart (there’s video evidence of this, so do your thing X-Men).
He was even seen eating a ‘rait wali chali from a thhayla’ (eating salt roasted corn) from a vendor.
DablewTee’s Deadpool uses the same soundtrack as the original. Desi Deadpool got down to SK Productions’ Deadpool rap.

“Saare log apni khidkiyan band kar, Hollywood se aaya Pakistan ke wo andar, Marvel ka sabse sexy mast qalandar.”
Desi Deadpool Gearing Up for…. Valentines Day?
Deadpool even did something else that is so Desi and right in time for Valentine’s Day.
He wrote his number in a public washroom with the message:
“Vanessa, goli maroon ya maroon line, will you be my valentine?”
This is the not the last we’ll be seeing of Desi Deadpool. He actually asked where we’d like him to head out next.
Some have suggested that he head to Karachi so we can see how he would react to ‘Na Maloom Afraad’ mugging him at a traffic signal.
Given that he acts like a ‘Pindi Boi’ maybe he should he should go to Pindi next. We shall see if this Deadpool can compete with the corniness of a typical Pindi Boi.
