Ranveer Singh may be on a roll but he has a long way to go if he intends to beat Salman Khan’s earning records. He needs to earn Indian Rs 288.58 crores to be exact.

With the success of Padmaavat and Simmba, Ranveer Singh replaced Salman Khan as Bollywood’s highest earner.

Now in order to break another one of Bhai’s records, Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy needs to make Rs. 288.58 crores at the box office.

Salman Khan Remains the Top Earner in Bollywood

Salman Khan was crowned Bollywood’s highest earner when he took home Rs 530.50 crore back in 2015. This is the highest takeaway any Bollywood star had in a year.

Ranveer Singh dethroned Salman in 2018 with Rs 542.37 crore rupees takeaway from the box office.

Salman also holds the record for the highest earning in a year’s time frame. Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned Rs 320.34 crores and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo earned Rs 210.16 crore in 2015, amounting to Rs 530.50 crores in just that year.

It should be mentioned that the one-year time frame extends from July, 2015 when Bajrangi Bhaijaan was released till July, 2016 when Sultan was released.

Between these three movies, Sallu Bhai took home a mammoth Rs 830.95 crore rupees in 12 months. This is the record that Ranveer Singh needs to break to be considered as Bollywood’s highest ever earner.

Ranveer Singh’s Earning Records

Ranveer Singh already broke the year-end record with Padmaavat and Simmba, and his one-year time frame was up by January, 2018.

Even if he manages to bag Rs 288.58 crores with Gully Boy, it will a record made in 13 months not 12 months. Therefore, Salman Khan still remains the box-office juggernaut.

This will still help Ranveer Singh’s winning streak though. He still is in the five crore club with Salman Khan and they’re the only two members.
