This Police Officer’s Order For Respecting Teachers Has Won Us Over

Salute to this policeman for setting a good example.

A District Police Officer (DPO) at Jhelum, Syed Hammad Abid has served a commendable order for his fellow policemen, on the importance of respecting teachers.

As per the order, policemen across Jhelum are expected to treat teachers as VIP at checkpoints and police stations.

The order started off with the importance of teachers in Islam, moving on to how they deserve the utmost respect.

“Islam has granted teachers a status equivalent of parents.”

The notice included complete guidelines on how to respect teachers and how they ought to be treated.

A Widely Appreciated Step

So impressed was the Federal Minister of Information and Broadcast Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, that he ended up sharing the picture of the order by the District Police Officer (DPO) Jhelum on his Twitter account:

The orders mention the need of being decent people to teachers, to putting effort into being more respectful.

Directives include not having teachers wait when they come in to police stations to file complaints or any other issue.

DPO Jhelum went as far as to suggest that when any officer encounters their teacher while on duty they should go out of their way to offer respect.

The point of these directives was to promote respect for teachers in society.

“Highlight the importance of teachers in order and elevate their honor and status.”

Teachers Need Respect

On the other hand, we recently saw a sad, disgusting tweet from someone who tried to objectify teachers. Nonetheless, its good to see that some people in positions of authority realize the role and status teachers should occupy in our society.
