A great effort in educating people.

In an effort to raise awareness regarding the Covid-19 pandemic, filmmakers and content creators across the country have been coming up with short films and video campaigns to help educate the public on the best way to stay safe.

Studio Rokhan released a short Pushto animated film in March, at the start of the pandemic which promoted personal hygiene as a way of staying safe and fighting coronavirus.

The film followed protagonist Pabo Badmash who is presented as the only man standing in the way of coronavirus and his people.

The quirky short saw the townspeople present various weapons to Pabo to tackle the impending threat of coronavirus. From a cricket bat to a 2013 model of a rocket launcher, Pabo rejects them all in favour of soap.

Now, Xdynamix Studios has released another video along similar lines. It showcases a diverse group of ordinary citizens who demonstrate how to best help the most vulnerable members of society, all while maintaining a safe distance.

The group is led by Bijli, billed as Pakistan’s first transgender hero, as she guides her fellow heroes on what to do. She helps a disabled man while narrating what to watch out for as we go with our lives these days.

“As the danger of Covid-19 recedes, we must understand that it is still not over. For the first time in Pakistan, a group of five heroes comes together (while keeping a safe distance) under the leadership of Pakistan’s first animated transgender character, Bijli. Their message is crisp and clear: precaution is the only cure. Our Heroes will not leave a single stone unturned to spread the message in their own special ways.”

We’re looking forward to more quirky shorts like these! Not only are they entertaining, but they also end up spreading awareness about issues that matter.
