‘The Addams Family’ spin-off is currently trending at No.1 in 83 countries.

Dark comedy Wednesday dethroned Stranger Things as Netflix’s most watched series in the world. The Netflix original broke the record for the most viewed for an English-language series on Wednesday!

The streaming giant’s social media handle on Twitter reported that Wednesday recorded an impressive 341.2 million hours since its premiere on Netflix on 23 November.

The Jenna Ortega starrer surpassed the previous record of 335.01 million hours set by the highly anticipated season four of Stranger Things. The new Netflix original series is not just trending worldwide but is currently No. 1 across 83 different countries all around the globe.

In addition to breaking viewership records, Wednesday is also enjoyable favorable reviews from critics as it is “certified fresh” by American review site Rotten Tomatoes.

The new Netflix series is a spin-off of the beloved cartoon series The Addams Family. The show centers around Wednesday Addams, a 16-year-old goth girl who is enrolled into a boarding school, Nevermore Academy, where she tries to master her psychic abilities to solve a bizarre murder mystery that took place two decades ago.

The show stars Jenna Ortega in the titular role alongside veteran actress Catherine Zeta-Jones as ‘Morticia Addams’, Luis Guzmán as ‘Gomez Addams’, and Isaac Ordonez as ‘Pugsley Addams’. The series also features Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie and actress Christina Ricci, who played ‘Wednesday Addams’ in 1991 film The Addams Family.
