Umer Sharif Laid To Rest In His Native Karachi [Pictures]

As Pakistan continues to mourn the loss of Umer Sharif, the legendary artist was laid to rest. Umer Sharif’s final rights were performed in his native Karachi.

Over the weekend, the Pakistan Television Network era comedian passed away in Germany. He had been there seeking treatment until he could be moved to the United States for surgery.

The comedian has been laid to rest at the Abdullah Shah Ghazi graveyard in Karachi. Which was a teary moment for all in attendance. Many famous artists and political personalities attended the funeral including the dignitaries of the Sindh Government.

Umer Sharif’s son, Jawad Umer, had requested fans to join the funeral. Though fans were already there at the venue in the love of Umer Sharif prior to his request. A huge number of fans arrived to pay homage to the legendary comedian. Such a huge crowd gathered at the funeral, that security had to close all the entrances of the park to avoid more crowd.

Police officials had to clear the way for the ambulance due to such a huge crowd. The ambulance was carrying Umer Sharif’s body to the graveyard.

While the body was received by his sons Jawad Umer and Fawad Umer, television anchor Waseem Badami accompanied the legendary artist’s sons throughout this process. From receiving the dead body to burial.

When Umer Sharif’s dead body arrived at the airport fans escorted it while showering rose petals. His funeral was performed in Umer Sharif Park Clifton phase 2. While his casket was wrapped in a Pakistani flag.
