In the latest news regarding the Uzma Khan case, it seems that a conclusion is on the cards. Her sister Huma Khan has filed a petition where she states that she has canceled the FIR filed against Malik Riaz’s daughters Pashmina and Amber, and his niece Aamna Usman Malik.
In a fresh twist, Huma has changed her initial statements when news of the case first made rounds. Uzma and Huma alleged that Malik Riaz’s relatives had tortured her previously. Now, Huma says that her sister’s and her injuries were sustained due to broken glass and that no torture was inflicted upon them.
Here’s what she said in her petition:
I understand my welfare and upcoming future. No such occurrence has been took place. Accused party has not made any torture upon me. I sustained injuries due to fallen of glass from table.
The accused persons nominated in the FIR are innocent.
In the FIR, that has now been canceled, Uzma Khan accused both Amber Malik, Pashmina Malik and Aamna Usman of verbally and physically assaulting her after trespassing into her house. Uzma’s lawyer explained earlier that the three were guilty of three offenses; vandalism and criminal intimidation.
However, both her lawyers disassociated themselves from the case and hinted towards a settlement:
This is to announce that we are disassociating from #UzmaKhan case.I understand the reasons of any settlement by two aggrieved women in a rigged system,my conscience doesn’t allow me to be part of any of that, even in a professional capacity.

We understand our clients’ position, they wanted to get justice but the system allows powerful aggressors to do as they please, with no accountability! I pray that a day will come when law is equal for all. Our fight for justice continues. https://t.co/FEMGZ4RWgz

Thanking everyone for their support, Hassaan Niazi also confirmed that he was not a part of any settlement between the two parties.
Although the public was involved since the beginning of this case, we are yet to find out what settlement, if any, was made amongst the two parties.
Did the powerful win their battle in keeping the powerless quiet? Or did they come to a legitimate agreement? Only time will tell.

It was alright to come down hard on those who trespassed the privacy of those two sisters of the showbiz. What about trying to crack a crib in the personal life of Amna Malik by seducing or trapping her husband? Strange, nobody talks about it. Why not call both Uzma and Usman to explain their behaviour for having been responsible for whatever happened. Unless you are evenhanded, the justice won’t be done.
Didnt come as a surprise at all .It was something that was most likely to happen given the aggressors and the aggrieved. This agreement /conflict resolution has ironically highlighted the poignantly sorry state of affairs and has rubbed the bitter fact in our face that we have a very long way to go before we can make tall claims about our respecting the law and abiding by its parameters then twisting it to suit the resourceful /powerful and interest /cause .
Its new pakistan like old Pakistan we have no right to in new or old Pakistan if poor .
Might was right and still might is right.
